Sarah Silverman is typically known for her comedic timing and political satire, but she’s now taking on the rawest role of her career in “I Smile Back” (In limited release December 04). And when ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli sat down with her in Toronto, he found out Sarah was completely out of her comfort zone!

Sarah jokes, “When the opportunity came my way, um I was like ‘Yeah sure I’ll do this!’ Because it didn’t occur to me that it would actually ever be made.”

In “I Smile Back”, Sarah plays Laney Brooks, a stay at home mom who’s dealing with mental illness and addiction. Sarah reveals “2 or 3 years later I got an email that it’s happening. And I remember writing back ‘Yay!’ And pressing send and then just kind of descending into a ball on the bathmat of my bathroom floor thinking ‘What have I done, I can’t do this!”.
