Joel Edgerton returns to the director’s chair for the upcoming film “Boy Erased”.
Starring Lucas Hedges who plays Jared, the son of a Baptist pastor (Russell Crowe) who is sent to a gay conversion therapy program run by Edgerton’s character.
This is the second film Edgerton has directed, in 2015 he made his feature directorial debut with the thriller “The Gift”. This time around, Edgerton also acts as the screenwriter on the movie.
Nicole Kidman also co-stars, alongside Xavier Dolan and Troye Sivan.
The flick is based on Garrard Conley’s heartbreaking memoir of the same name.
“Boy Erased” will hit movie theatres on Nov. 2.
