South Korean rapper PSY took the globe by storm in 2012 with his breakout hit, “Gangnam Style,”; which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song’s music video has been viewed over 2.4 billion times on YouTube and is the site’s most-watched video of all time. Now, PSY is hoping to strike gold again.
After a brief hiatus, the rapper is dropping not one, but two new singles; “Daddy,”; featuring singer CL from K-pop group 2NE1, and “Napal Baji.”; He says part of the reason for his extended break had to do with his fear of failure.
“There were many thoughts going around in my head, including thoughts like, ‘If I write like this, it would be not as good as Gangnam Style,’ and ‘If I write like this, the international audience will not understand,'”; PSY admits. “So it took me a very long time to organize all those thoughts into one.”;
The tracks will appear on PSY’s upcoming seventh album, Chiljip PSY-Da – which roughly translates to This is PSY’s Seventh Album.
