He’s best remembered for antagonizing his fellow suitors during JoJo Fletcher’s season of “The Bachelorette”, but Chad Johnson is now in the midst of playing a surprising new role: plaintiff in a sexual harassment lawsuit.
As TMZ reports, Johnson, 40, is suing Sunset Studios and producer Cristina Cimino, alleging she became “progressively more sexual and provocative” after she contacted him via Instagram with promises of landing him movie roles.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Johnson says Cimino first reached out to him in March 2018, and allegedly offered him two roles that would earn him $11 million.
Johnson’s suit claims that she lured him into face-to-face meetings, which he alleges were a part of her plot to “exert control over” him; when he made it clear he had no romantic or sexual interest in her, the movie offers evaporated.
In addition, the suit points to some lewd text messages Cimino sent him, including one that read, “Hey wanna come over later? Clothing is optional, nakedness is preferable.” Johnson says that she later told him she had sent that text to him mistakenly, as it was meant for someone else.
Johnson says she wrote in another text that they had consensually made out and that he grabbed her butt, yet Johnson’s lawsuit says that it was Cimino who was doing the grabbing, claiming she was the sexual aggressor in that situation.
Johnson is suing Cimino and the studio for assault, fraud, and emotional distress, and, adds TMZ, wants the $11 million he was promised.
TMZ has reached out to Sunset Studios for comment, but has yet to receive a response.
