Just days before “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” dances into theatres, “American Pie” alum Chris Klein’s self-admitted “terrible” audition for 2008’s original musical has resurfaced.

The hilarious clip sees Klein try out for the role of Sky, which ultimately went to Dominic Cooper, singing the ABBA classic “Lay All Your Love On Me”.
Just a few short years after the video leaked, Klein commented on the “horrible” time with “Popcorn”’s Peter Travers: “It’s kind of amazing to wake up one morning and you see an audition that you did two years ago be on YouTube. You think, ‘Oh, wow! That was terrible! That was a really horrible thing.’ But keep in mind, those things are never meant for the public to see; it should be an avenue for actors to go take chances and give their best and see what comes out.”
He also told The Huffington Post, “I took a chance. I can’t sing! I don’t know why I was in there. But I took a chance! It’s a musical – let’s see if I can give it a shot. And, you know, the way that they put it out there, it gets taken out of context and all that… It was really a dreadful audition.”
“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” hits theatres July 20.
