Fans are not happy Johnny Depp was able to appear on the same panel at Comic-Con as his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Warner Bros. was presenting their upcoming film slate – which includes both Heard’s “Aquaman” and Depp’s “Fantastic Beast And Where To Find Them: Crimes Of Grindelwald” – at the convention on Saturday with both actors in attendance. Despite their history, the actors were scheduled to appear on stage during the event, albeit at different times.

In 2016, Heard was granted a temporary restraining order against Depp after claims the “Edward Scissorhands” actor physically abused her.

The movie studio kicked off the “Fantastic Beasts” portion of the panel with stars including Jude Law and Ezra Miller on stage to introduce a brand new trailer for the movie. When footage of Depp appeared on screen, he was reportedly met with boos from the crowd.

But all that changed when Depp made a surprise in-character appearance as Gellert Grindelwald as the jeers turned to cheers.

While fans in Hall H may have changed their tune with Depp’s appearance, online users who were following along were quick to express their anger at the studio allowing the actor and his ex-wife to appear at the same event (Caution: Language in tweets may offend some).
