The lip sync of Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” tells the heartbreaking story of police officers kept from their beloved donuts. From Wednesday till Sunday, the music video has generated more than 2 million views and a shout out from Lady Antebellum themselves.

Middletown Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw said he was “overwhelmed” by the response, according to Journal News, and simply described the experience as “incredible.”

Muterspaw said the point of the video, and of the national lip sync challenge as a whole, is to show the public that police officers are people too. “If we brought out some smiles, then we did our job,” he said.

And if you think donut-loving-cops are just a stereotype, Muterspaw would be quick to disagree: “We always have them in the break room.”
