Charlie has found his Angels!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming big-screen reboot of “Charlie’s Angels” has assembled its cast, with previously cast Kristen Stewart and Naomi Scott joined by and Ella Balinska as the trio of private detectives. Elizabeth Banks — who will be directing — will also take on the role of Bosley, intermediary between the Angels and their mysterious employer, Charles Townsend.

While Stewart is an established star and Scott has an impressive roster of credits — including Fox dinosaur drama “Terra Nova”, the big-screen “Power Rangers” movie and her upcoming role as Princess Jasmine in Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” movie — Balinska is a relative newcomer, with just two screen credits listed on IMDB.com.

As THR reports, the new story “takes the detective agency premise of the original television series and turn-of-the century movies and takes it global, with the Townsend Agency now a worldwide security and intelligence service that has teams around the planet. The movie will focus on one of those teams and the next generation of Angels.”

In a statement, Banks lauded “Charlie’s Angels” as “one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s. This film honours the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.”

“Charlie’s Angels” made its debut on ABC in 1976, catapulting stars Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson to instant fame while ushering in the era of “jiggle TV.” The franchise came to the big screen in 2000 with Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu playing the titular Angels in that film and in the 2003 sequel “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle”.
