Anyone using public transit in Vancouver will soon be greeted by the familiar voice of a Lotusland homeboy: Seth Rogen.
In a video shared by the Vancouver Sun, the 36-year-old “Neighbors” star confirms that he’ll be lending his voice to TransLink announcements to be heard by transit passengers in Vancouver.
“Any opportunity to enrich the lives of the Canadian people is an opportunity I will take,” said Rogen in the video.

“I’m from Vancouver, British Columbia. I’m very proud to be from Vancouver,” Rogen continues. “And I grew up taking public transit my whole life, and I still use public transit when I’m in the city.”
The video also shares some of Rogen’s transit messages, including one in which he states, “Hey Vancouver, it’s Seth. Here’s a tip to make your transit ride even more awesome. I know your bag is probably very nice and you care deeply for it. But that doesn’t mean it needs its own seat.”
According to the Sun, Rogen agreed to voice the announcements for no charge, with TransLink paying for rental of the recording studio and editing services. The messages will be played while passengers board Vancouver’s Skytrain, Seabus and other forms of transit.

“Mr. Rogen offered to work with TransLink free of charge and we accepted his offer in the pursuit of providing a better customer experience and to share pride in the region,” said TransLink spokesman Steve Vanagas.
“We are always listening to our customers and that means on social media as well. This idea came from our customers and the local media and we’re happy to have been able to get this done in support of our transit system,” he added.
Rogen’s participation came about after an announcement in May that Morgan Freeman would voice transit announcements for TransLink, a plan that was scuttled shortly after when the Oscar-winning actor, 81, was hit with multiple accusations of sexual misconduct.

“In light of information we’ve learned through news stories this morning of serious allegations against actor Morgan Freeman, TransLink has decided to pause his voice announcements as part of a VISA ad campaign on the transit system,” said TransLink in a statement.
At the time, the Sun‘s Stephanie Ip took to Twitter to suggest Rogen as a potential replacement for Freeman, and Rogen quickly jumped on the idea — as did TransLink.
Rogen’s TransLink announcements will begin rolling out next week.
