Some great news for Trainspotting fans, with Deadline reporting that the long-awaited sequel is moving full-speed ahead, with all the cast of the original signing on to reprise their roles.

According to Deadline, director Danny Boyle is reuniting with screenwriter John Hodge, with stars Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle onboard.

Shooting is slated to begin in spring 2016, with the film to be released sometime in 2017.

In an interview with BBC News while promoting his latest flick, Steve Jobs, Boyle admitted that the prospect of Trainspotting 2 is “worrying,”; because he’s fully expecting to be “absolutely cricufied”;  if the sequel doesn’t live up to the original.

“Obviously it’s worrying because people will kill us if we made a bad job of it. I will get absolutely crucified,”; he said. “But you have to thrive on that potential danger within it and if it feeds into it, you might get a decent film out of it, you know.”;
