Prince Harry wishes the public would go a lot easier on his stepmother Camilla.

The newlywed Duke of Sussex opens up about his father Prince Charles’ second wife in an upcoming biography about the prince, according to The Express.

“To be honest, she’s always been very close to me and William,” Harry says of Camilla, adding, “She’s not a wicked stepmother. Look at the position she’s coming into. Don’t feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her.”

“She’s wonderful woman and she’s made our father very, very happy which is the most important thing. William and I love her to bits,” he continues.

Charles and Camilla have been married for 13 years, bringing their relationship out into the open only after the death of Princess Diana, William and Harry’s mother.

Camilla has often been blamed for the break-up of Charles and Diana’s marriage.
