Travis Scott has a brand new album coming out soon and he stopped by Zane Lowe’s show on Apple’s Beats 1 to talk about it.

Lowe talked to Scott over video chat and learned the rapper was on his way to see producer Mike Dean, prompting the radio host to wonder whether his “AstroWorld” album was finished.

“Is the album not done? The album is finished, of course,” Scott clarified. “Me and Mike, we go all the way in to the final day. I just like listening to this over and over, and just like, perfecting the vibe. I don’t like leaving the studio until this sh*t be on the neck.”

Scott also talked about the two-year wait between the new album and his previous one.

“With albums, I be feeling like no need to rush. I be just wanting to feel comfortable, you know what I mean?” he said. “When I’m finished, I just want to be happy, myself. It feels like one of those times like… I don’t know how kids felt when they had to go on a field trip. It was just so much fun making this album. It took like, a lot.”

Fans of Scott’s first album “Rodeo” will also find a lot of continuity with this third outing.

“‘AstroWorld’’s been set in stone since ‘Rodeo’. My whole idea was, if you locked in to ‘Rodeo’, you definitely locked into ‘AstroWorld’,” Scott explained. “I’m just finishing the saga I  started on my first album. This is supposed to be my second album. I had to go quick, because like I said, I had all these ideas, I just had to get off real quick, but now I’m finally back home with ‘AstroWorld’.”
