Eight years after one of the world’s worst natural catastrophes of all time, a film about the tsunami of 2004 is hitting movie theatres. Starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, The Impossible is based on a true story about a family caught in the mayhem following the Boxing Day tsunami.
Ewan joins ET Canada“s Rick Campanelli to talk about how being a father of four daughters in real life made this experience even more powerful for him. “I never tried to think about my children when I was playing these scenes, because it was too awful to think about,”; he admits.
But the actor reveals it might’ve been more difficult to bring this family’s story to life in the film if he wasn’t a parent himself: “[It] may have not have been so good if we not have kids ourselves.”;
