The prequel machine is in full gear.
20th Century Fox has plans for a prequel of the 1993 coming-of-age comedy classic “The Sandlot”. The film’s original director and writer David Mickey Evans has signed on to work with screenwriter Austin Reynolds.
There are very few details on the movie’s cast or plot, but Deadline says “The Beast”, a savage English mastiff of neighbourhood legend, will be featured in some capacity.
The original “Sandlot” grossed $33 million on a $7 million budget and later became a cult movie.
Actors James Earl Jones and Karen Allen played supporting roles in the first film.
