Zayn Malik has teamed up with super-producer Timbaland for his new, pulsating single “Too Much”, which dropped Thursday.

The song features Timbaland’s electro-rhythm, crisp synths, and punchy drums, as Zayn’s stirring vocals draw the listener into the throwback-style track.

“I took your digits a while back/ I think we f***ed in the flashback/ While in my mind kind of sidetracked,” the former “One Direction” singer opens the song before the drums kick in.

Timbaland himself offers his vocals to the track’s chorus, singing “Must be an addiction/ I wanted it all, didn’t expect it to fall/ Must be an affliction/ I wanted to call, but I didn’t call/ Now it’s keeping me up at night.”

The pair also released an accompanying video — an animated clip of a purple-haired Zayn moonwalking and dancing in the street while Timbaland bounces up and down in a lowrider behind him.

“Too Much” is the latest single from Zayn’s forthcoming second album, the followup to his 2016 debut Mind of Mine. There is currently no announced release date for the new record.
