Dave Bautista is not at all happy with his bosses at Disney after the firing of “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn from the upcoming third film in the series.
Disney severed its ties with Gunn after right wing activists online resurfaced years-old tweets in which the director had made jokes about pedophilia and sexual assault against children.
Bautista signed onto an open letter last week from the cast of the film, stating their support for Gunn and urging Disney to rehire him.
On Sunday, a Twitter user asked Bautista directly if he has a plan in the event Disney does not hire Gunn back.
In his response, Bautista indicated that he would abide by his contract to appear in the film, and added that it is “pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists.”
Bautista had also previously expressed his support for Gunn when the news of the firing first broke, writing on Twitter that “[Gunn] is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met.”
Disney has so far offered no indication that they will bring Gunn back for the film, and there has not been word about a potential replacement director.
