Wiz Khalifa has put on some muscle and a body hook to boot.
The “Black and Yellow” rapper has been hitting the weights and hitting people in the face. Khalifa, 30, told Bleacher Report about his newfound passion for Mixed Martial Arts.
“I just got tired of getting my a** whooped, so I figured I would learn how to fight,” he said, revealing he was used as a “practice dummy” by his cousins. “It’s not as easy to beat me up anymore.”
Khalifa first experimented with the grappling art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but he really fell in love with fighting once he took up the Muay Thai boxing.
“That’s when my mind changed to like, ‘OK, this is what I want to do,’” he explained. “I like the conditioning. I like the stand-up aspect of it. I like the footwork. So I was like I’m gonna f— with this a little more than jiu-jitsu.”
Khalifa typically works out for “about two or three hours” a day at the ultra-exclusive Los Angeles celebrity gym Unbreakable and is thrilled with his new physique.
“I was cool with being skinny before,” the rapper said. “But as a 30-year-old man, I like myself with more weight.”
He previously told “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans how he has even sparred with MMA legends like Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture, as well as current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
