Trump Denies Omarosa’s Claim He Said N-Word In ‘Apprentice’ Recordings, Insists There Are ‘NO TAPES’

Once a favourite of Donald Trump who appeared on several seasons of “The Apprentice”, Omarosa Manigault-Newman has completed her transition from reality show villain to White House staffer to fired, vengeful ex-employee with dirt to dish about America’s 45th president.

Manigault-Newman had plenty to say about Trump when she sat down for a Sunday morning appearance with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press” (above), claiming to have heard the alleged tapes in which Trump repeatedly uses the N-word during “Apprentice” filming.

Speaking with Todd, the reality star confirmed the existence of the long-rumoured tape. “I have heard the tape…I know it exists and what I regret is that these people are trying to leverage it as an October surprise. I don’t want to be a part of it,” she said while promoting her new tell-all, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.

“Once I heard it, it was confirmed what I feared the most: that Donald Trump is a con and has been masquerading as someone who is actually open to engaging with diverse communities.”

She added: “But when he talks that way, the way he did on this tape, it confirmed that he is truly a racist.”

She also cleared up a discrepancy created in an earlier interview with NPR, in which she likewise claimed to have heard the tape — which contradicts her account in the book, which relates that she was told of the tape by others who had heard it but didn’t hear it firsthand herself. As she told Todd, she did hear the tape, but only after the book had been completed.

And while she admitted that Trump had never used the N-word in her presence, she told Todd she wouldn’t be surprised to hear that he had used it when she wasn’t around.

“Donald Trump talks about everyone behind their backs,” she said. “He has a nickname for everyone in his circle so I am certain he has said some negative things about me.”

Asked by reporters about Unhinged on Saturday, the president was quick to slam his former friend. “Lowlife,” said Trump. She’s a lowlife.”

In response to being called a “lowlife,” Manigault-Newman fired back. “That is a man who is inclined to start racially charged engagement and use race to stir up his base,” she responded.

Todd, however, did not let her dirt-dishing go unchallenged, pointing to glowing comments she made about the president while she worked at the White House — even defending Trump after his infamous “good people on both sides” comment about the violent white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville last year.

“I had a blind side when it came to Donald Trump,” she admitted. “I wanted to see the best of him. It’s really difficult to see that I was so much a part of this.”

She added: “It is hindsight. But I will say this to you, I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation. They continue to deceive this nation by how mentally declined he is, how difficult it is for him to process complex information. How he is not engaged in some of the most important decisions that impacts our country. I was complicit, and for that I regret.”

On Monday, Trump unleashed his presidential fury in a pair of tweets blasting the former reality star, claiming he’d been in touch with “Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett, who “called to say there are NO tapes… where I used such a terrible and disgusting word,” insisting “Wacky and Deranged Omarosa” “made it up” while proclaiming himself to be “a true Champion of Civil Rights.”
