It is time for “Mr. Robot” diehards to start accepting some things.
Mainly, they will soon have to say goodbye to their beloved hackers and anarchists. Actor Christian Slater discussed the fate of the series during an interview with Collider for his 2017 drama “The Wife”.

“I believe [season four] will be the last season. [Show creator] Sam [Esmail] always said it was going to be somewhere in that zone, and he didn’t want to go further than what he could creatively contribute to that storyline,” said Slater. “So, I think that season four will be it.”
“I think they’re in the writers’ room, as we speak, putting it all together, but I have no idea what it’s gonna be, or if I’m gonna be floating in and out of scenes,” he continued. “I have no idea, so we’ll see what happens.”
Moving on to the task at hand, Slater expressed why he was so excited to work on a movie like “The Wife” which is more rooted in reality.

“We’ve become so unaccustomed to seeing movies about people communicating with each other,” said Slater. “They just have CGI explosives and a lot of chaos. This is a relationship that is, in a way, a ticking time bomb ready for its own emotional explosion.”
“The Wife” follows a wife who travels to Stockholm with her husband, who is set to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. It premiered at TIFF in 2017 and can be viewed in theatres Aug. 17.
