Bam Margera revealed on Instagram Sunday he’d been robbed at gunpoint after taking a taxi alone in Cartagena, Colombia.
Margera, 38, also suggested he’d broken his sobriety after the ordeal, told his followers: “I took a taxi, a random one… I couldn’t speak Spanish, they couldn’t speak English and they translated on their phone for me to read ’empty your wallet,’ as they put a gun on their lap to show it to me.
“So I did and I had five hundred bucks, they let me go, that was weird.”
The American skateboarder then added, “Welcome to Colombia.”
Margera shared the clip shortly before posting another video of a beer bottle, with him confirming in the caption that he’d been sober since January 10.
He also invited fans to hang out with him, writing: “Anyone in Cartagena I will be sitting at the centre square at high noon tomorrow with my skateboard if u wanna cruise.”
It’s not clear whether Margera ended up drinking from the beer bottle in the video.
Margera’s clips come after he said of his battle with alcoholism, according to Men’s Health: “I didn’t officially start drinking until maybe 24 or 25.
“Then the rockstar life and drinking spun out of control.”
