Meghan Markle reportedly hopped on a plane to Toronto as the ongoing drama surrounding her father Thomas continued last week.
According to Royal Central, Markle, 37, boarded an Air Canada flight to the city without husband Prince Harry, 33. The publication added that Kensington Palace had warned the airline beforehand not to approach the duchess for pictures.
Markle previously lived in Toronto while filming the TV series “Suits” and has numerous friends in the city.
ABC News‘ royal contributor Omid Scobie has now said Markle visited her best friend Jessica Mulroney and her children during the three-day trip, explaining: “Meghan spent three days holed up at Jessica Mulroney and her husband Ben’s home in Toronto.”
The royal expert added that the ladies had “spent their days catching up, cooking together and, of course, playing with Jessica’s children, who love their ‘Auntie Meg.’
“There was one evening when Meghan and Jessica secretly headed out into the town to meet some of Meghan’s good friends.”
Mulroney’s twin boys, Brian and John, 7, acted as page boys in Markle’s royal wedding, while their daughter, Ivy, 4, served as a bridesmaid.
It’s not known whether family issues had anything to do with the trip, but the royal’s visit comes as her father continues to hit headlines for doing numerous interviews with the British press.
ET Canada has contacted the Palace for further comments.
The latest Markle news comes after her dad Thomas did another interview with The Sun, in which he compared the Royal Family to the Church of Scientology.
He told the tabloid, “If they hear anybody say anything they just lock the doors. They need to speak up! They are cult-like — like Scientology — because they are secretive.
“They close the door, pull the shades down and put their fingers in their ears so they don’t have to hear. Maybe they have a secret handshake too! You cannot ask a question of them — as they won’t answer.”
