“They are too little,” Garner explains of her son Samuel, 6, and daughters Seraphina, 9, and Violet, 12, whom she shares with her ex, Ben Affleck.

Revealing why she waited to get back into action with her latest role, Garner says, “I had babies and, you know, I was either pregnant or nursing or recovering from one of those things. And it just didn’t feel like the right time.”

Addressing her “Kill Bill”-like role, she adds, “Action just takes so much time and intensive training and preparation in that it wasn’t until […] all three kids were in school that I could devote that kind of time to it.”

Opening up about the training process, Garner continues, “It was very intense. I was in good shape going into preparing for the role, but the difference between being in good shape and being in action shape is a very, very different ball of wax. So, yeah, I had to put my head down. I knew what I needed to do.”

On Monday, August 20, the actress will receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
