One, two, three and to the four, Snoop Doggy Dogg is busting down the kitchen door.

Fresh off his Emmy-nominated cooking show with Martha Stewart, “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party”, the rap icon is publishing his first cookbook, From Crook to Cook, with Chronicle Books.

The book will feature 50 of Snoop’s favourite recipes from his personal collection, including staples like baked mac and cheese, chicken and waffles and baby back ribs to “upper echelon fare” like Filet Mignon and Lobster Thermidor.

There is also a special “Gin and Juice” recipe, a nod to Snoop’s 1993 hit of the same name.

“You know it’s blazin’ up in my kitchen. I’m takin’ the cookbook game higher with a dipped and whipped collection of my favorite recipes, ya dig?” Snoop said in a statement.

While the Grammy-nominated artist promises “snacks to satisfy those munchies”, the recipes are said to be 100 per cent cannabis-free, though there is a plan to launch a line of cannabis-themed books with Chronicle in 2020.

“Snoop’s book is full of his iconic creative energy – it’s as much fun to read as it is to cook from,” said Christine Carswell, publisher of Chronicle Books.

This may be Snoop’s first cookbook, but the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker is no stranger to the world of literature. In 1999, Snoop published his memoir Tha Doggfather, and in 2006, he teamed up with award-winning playwright David E. Talbert to release his first novel in his Doggy Tales series.

From Crook to Cook is scheduled for release October 23 and is now available to pre-order.
