A tropical cyclone has caused CBS to shut down production on two of its series currently filming in Hawaii.

“Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.” are halting production as Hurricane Lane draws closer to the Big Island. The Category 4 storm is expected to be the most powerful storm to hit Hawaii since Hurricane Iniki in 1992.

According to Deadline, “Magnum P.I.” has shut down production for today and tomorrow, while “Hawaii-Five-0” filmed this morning but will stop production for the rest of today and Friday. Sources from CBS told the publication that things could change depending on the weather.

CBS says that the safety of the cast and crew are the top priority and that they have been “closely monitoring the situation” since it was determined the hurricane would hit the island on Thursday afternoon.

The storm, which has maximum sustained winds of 130 mph, was in the Pacific about 210 miles south-southwest of the town of Kailua-Kona in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to CNN. The state has been put on high alert.
At a news conference on Wednesday, current Governor of Hawaii David Ige said, “Be prepared to shelter in place with 14 days of food supplies and water and any other necessities.”
The “Magnum P.I.” reboot is scheduled to premiere Sept. 24, while “Hawaii Five-0” will return for its ninth season, premiering on Friday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
