A familiar face to television viewers for more than half a century, famed comedian Tim Conway is reportedly suffering from severe dementia, according to legal documents obtained by The Blast.
In the documents, the 84-year-old star’s daughter, Kelly, is petitioning the court to be appointed her father’s conservator so she can take charge of his medical treatment.
In the documents, Conway’s daughter alleges that the comedian’s wife, Charlene, is “planning to move him out of the excellent skilled nursing facility he is currently at,” and states that the new facility will not give her father access to “registered nurses at all times and his 24-hour caregiver and speech therapist (to help with swallowing).”
Furthermore, the documents claim that Conway is unable to “properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, and clothing” and is “almost entirely unresponsive.”
Conway’s daughter is hoping to be granted guardianship so she can administer her father’s medications “for the care and treatment of dementia.”
In addition to his role on Burnett’s long-running variety show — which aired from 1967 until 1978 — Conway is also known for TV sitcom “McHale’s Navy” and his numerous “Dorf on Golf” comedy videos.
