Angelina Jolie has parted ways with her divorce attorney Laura Wasser and is taking on new counsel in her ongoing divorce with Brad Pitt, according to People.

A spokesperson for Jolie told ET that the 43-year-old actress “…decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley Dejean, as Samantha’s expertise is the protection and best interest of children.

“Angelina appreciates Laura’s co-operation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks.”

Jolie and Pitt separated in September 2016 and have since been involved in a custody battle over their six children: Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

“Angelina remains focused on healing her family,” a source told People. “She continues to support the reconciliation of the children with Brad.”

The source revealed that Dejean was “put in the lead a month ago” and in the past month “the case has been fully transitioned to Samantha.”

“She has come to rely on Samantha’s counsel and thought it best that she take the lead,” the insider added.
