Radiohead is giving fans a special Christmas day present.
The band was asked to create a potential theme song for this year’s Bond movie, Spectre, and today, they’re releasing the unused material. “Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for […] Spectre. Yes we were,” Tom Yorke wrote in a Soundcloud post. “It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much.”

The highly-coveted honour of writing the Spectre theme was ultimately given to Sam Smith, who went on to record “Writing’s On The Wall.”
“As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it,” Yorke added. “Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”
