In the new trailer for “The Favourite”, Olivia Colman plays an ailing Queen Anne, who has ceded the running of Great Britain to her friend Lady Sarah, played by Rachel Weisz.

But things get upended with the arrival of new servant Abigail, played by Emma Stone.

Abigail soon gains Sarah’s favour, putting her on track to regain her aristocratic roots but things get a lot more complicated when she becomes close to Queen Anne herself, creating a tumultuous triangle of affection and anger.

“The Favourite” recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival and is set for release Nov. 23.
