Felicity Jones transforms into a younger Ruth Bader Ginsburg for the upcoming movie “On the Basis of Sex” in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.
Jones, 34, can be seen rocking a tweed jacket with wavy brunette locks on the cover of the mag, speaking out about playing the role in the cover story.
The actress, who plays a younger version of the 85-year-old Supreme Court Justice in the flick, is set to star alongside Armie Hammer, who plays Ginsburg’s husband, Marty.
Jones told the publication, “I really admire in Ruth the carefulness with which she has gone through her life and career.”

“She’s taken her time, and that really gave me a lot of confidence. That it’s okay to think like that, and to be judicious.”
Ginsburg, who met up with Jones and director Mimi Leder at a restaurant in Washington, D.C., was clearly a fan of the English actress, with her telling the filmmaker that Jones was “great.”
However, she did ask: “But can she do the Brooklyn accent?”
Jones’ VF piece also saw her discuss the current #MeToo movement, with Leder telling the mag: “Given the current political climate, it feels so important to be directing this movie right now – Ruth paved the way for all of us.”
“It’s not just the entertainment business that’s full of scumbags.”
The film follows Ginsburg’s early struggles in the fight for equal rights, coming up against challenges in her personal and professional life, including being told women are “too emotional” to be lawyers.
“I always had very strong women in my life,” Jones shared. “I’ve always had a sense of how important it is to have an identity as a woman that is allowed to be powerful in the workplace.”
