Piper Perabo has been arrested after protesting in Washington D.C.
The “Covert Affairs” actress, 41, travelled to the U.S. capitol to protest the Senate confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Tuesday.
Perabo took to Twitter following her arrest to share a video where she – and several other women – can be seen being dragged out of the courtroom by police.
“I was just arrested for civil disobedience in the Kavanaugh hearings,” Perabo tweeted. “Many citizens before me have fought for the equal rights of women. I can’t be silent when someone is nominated to the Supreme Court who would take our equal rights away.”
Perabo was one of many people arrested Tuesday, the Capitol Police revealed 22 protesters were charged with disorderly conduct.
The “Coyote Ugly” actress has been very vocal with her activism. Last year she announced she would be participating in a protest in support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program outside of Trump Tower in NYC.
