Voting Begins For The People’s Choice Awards, 13 New Categories Added

Voting has begun for this year’s People’s Choice Awards, with fans invited to cast votes for their favourites in the fields of TV, music, movies, and pop culture.

First launched in 1975, the annual awards gala is now accepting votes from fans throughout the world, who can select from the 12 nominees, along with a write-in option, in each category to help determine the five finalists who will move forward to the next phase of voting.

For more excitement, this year sees the addition of 13 new categories: “The Game Changer of 2018” (recognizing an athlete who’s had a social/professional impact this year); “The Style Star of 2018”; “The Beauty Influencer of 2018”; “The Animal Star of 2018”; “The Music Video of 2018”; “The Concert Tour of 2018”; “The Comedy Act of 2018”; “The Pop Podcast of 2018”; “The Revival Show of 2018”; “The Reality Show of 2018”; “The Bingeworthy Show of 2018”; “The Competition Contestant of 2018”; and “The Reality TV Star of 2018”

The first round of voting for the 43 categories across movies, television, music, and pop culture will run until Friday, Sept. 14, at 11:59pm ET, with fans encouraged to vote online, via Facebook, or Twitter. The finalist voting window will begin Sept. 24 and run through October 19.
