Serena Williams On Learning To Love Her Body: ‘I’m Happier In Myself’

Tennis star and six-time Wimbledon winner Serena Williams is all about loving her body and has opted to do so regardless of any negative comments.

Speaking with U.K.’s The Times magazine, Williams, 34, admits that she is aware of what gets said behind her back about her muscular frame, but rather than firing back at haters she’s decided to love herself.

“I know I get flack for my physique, and it has been a struggle to love my body, but now curves are in and I’m happier in myself,”; she tells the publication.

She adds that she was criticized since she was a little girl, surrounded by petite athletes.

“When I was younger, it was hard seeing all these thin athletes when I had more muscular curves and was big-busted,”; she explains. “Just try running with DDs that are bouncing seven inches up and down! It’s distracting, not to mention dangerous, because you can tear ligaments.”;
