During an appearance on “Ellen”, the actress spoke candidly about the director’s decision to cast his friend — a registered sex offender — in the film.

“The public, fans, strangers on the street, all of the news outlets have been extremely supportive and that’s such a gift because it’s not an easy situation to be in,” Munn expressed. “When I found that out, I did call FOX and I said, ‘We have to delete the scene,’ and they did, thankfully.”

The 38-year-old further explained to DeGeneres that she made it her mission to reach out to her co-stars so that they weren’t blindsided like she was. However, she said that she was later chastised by people in the studio for telling them what had happened, rather than keeping it quiet.

“The reality is, the people who collude to keep people like this in positions of power, that’s the real problem, the people who keep turning blind eyes.”

After bringing the issue to light, Munn told DeGeneres about the disheartening lack of support she received from the majority of her co-stars.

“Nobody said anything to me about it, nobody talked to me, nobody reached out that whole day,” the actress explained. “I did feel iced out and I think what’s really important for people to understand is, you know when you see something you have to say something.

“I think people expected me to be quiet because it was my movie. The truth is, I don’t care if this movie gave me all the money in the world and all the power. If it cost one person’s life, they can take it; I don’t want this career.”

The “X-Men” alum did acknowledge Sterling K. Brown’s support on Twitter.
