Sometimes the gym is not a very “good place”.
Actress Jameela Jamil, who stars in Global’s “The Good Place”, was minding her own business at the gym when she was approached by an unfamiliar man. Jamil, 32, told the man she was “cycling because I have anxiety,” when asked.
The man confessed he “always” sees her around and thinks “‘What a shame, she could look so amazing,’ and there are so many different things I could do to improve my body,” Jamil said in a video uploaded to Twitter. “So he essentially walked up to me and body-shamed me in the middle of the gym.
“Don’t do that,” she continued. “Don’t walk up to somebody and impose your belief of what you think they should look like… Don’t do that to women, don’t do that to men. Don’t do that to anyone, ever.”
“If they’re thinking about you like that, they’re thinking about themselves like that,” Jamil said. “F**k these people.”
The actress urged her followers to not let people like that dishearten them from exercising or to avoid the gym out of fear of being judged.
