We caught up with Alexander Skarsgard and Nicole Kidman at the Toronto International Film Festival this week and of course we were eager to find out what’s in store for season 2 of “Big Little Lies”.
It will be an incredible mix of characters with Meryl Streep added to the storyline as Perry’s mother.
Talking with Skarsgard on the “Hold The Dark” TIFF red carpet Wednesday night, the actor told ET Canada “it is quite an honour to have Meryl Streep as my mother” on the HBO series.
He added that he has read the script and said he isn’t giving anything away when he revealed it is “extraordinary.”
“It is going to be extraordinary, it’s intense,” he said, adding “you’re in for a ride.”
Meanwhile, Kidman had fun chatting with Cheryl Hickey on the red carpet at the TIFF premiere for “Boy Erased” on Tuesday night. “I love Meryl,” Kidman told Cheryl, but she was tight-lipped about what it was like actually working with Streep as her character Celeste’s mother-in-law. “You’ll have to watch the series,” she said, chuckling.
But Cheryl and Kidman did share a moment when the actress expressed how much she adores her mother-in-law in real life, Keith Urban’s mother, Marienne. “I love my mother-in-law,” she revealed.
But we’ll have to wait to find out whether Celeste loves or hates her mother-in-law when season two of “Big Little Lies” premieres in 2019.
