A Creepy New Trailer For Rupert Wyatt’s ‘Captive State’ Just Dropped

How can a world with no crime, no poverty, and minimal unemployment look so bleak?

It could be the giant floating “legislature” controlling the population… but that’s just an educated guess.

The image is the climax of the new trailer for “Captive State”, a terrifying political sci-fi flick from “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes” director Rupert Wyatt.

In the trailer above, it seems as though America has been taken over by some sort of extraterrestrial army, which is working to create a subordinate nation.

Viewers only catch a glimpse of the cast, including John Goodman, Vera Farmiga and “Moonlight” star Ashton Sanders, and while their roles remain somewhat unclear, the film’s viral site (a page pulled from the “Cloverfield” marketing campaign) provides insight into their characters, as well as ‘the state of the union’.

The movie takes place 10 years after “first contact”, and it looks as though some kind of human resistance may be forming.
