The supers are back!

Everybody’s favourite supermodels are reuniting for a high-fashion comeback.

Nineties fashion muses, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer show the insta-models of today (we’re looking at you Kendall and Gigi) exactly how it’s done, starring in Balmain latest ads. The three beauties front the Parisian brand’s spring/summer 2016 campaign, smouldering in the high-contrast black-and-white images.

Rousteing’s casting choice is a refreshing change from the Kardashian-Jenner heavy ads of years past.

Shot by legendary photographer Steven Klein, the trio strike high-fashion poses in a slew of pieces from the celeb-favourite label.

Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, wrote a candid statement about his inspiration behind the campaign. “When I was a schoolboy in Bordeaux, it was their editorials that first made clear to me the amazing transformative power of fashion. Still today, many years on, their iconic images are often found amongst the jumble on mood boards in my (and almost every other designers’) atelier.”

Schiffer, meanwhile, took to Instagram dubbing the Balmain designer the “new star of the fashion world.” “I’m so excited to be part of the #BALMAINSS16 ad campaign…[Olivier Rousteing] is a sweetheart at the same time as being one of the most talented designers I have met. He has such a calm and positive energy.”

Prior to posting her own shots of the campaign, Crawford shared a 1994 backstage throwback of herself Schiffer— a fellow 90s runway queen. “Who needs a hairbrush when you’ve got Chanel?” she captioned the image.
