Frank Ocean Says He And Travis Scott ‘Resolved’ Cease And Desist Issues ‘Weeks Ago’

Frank Ocean smacked Travis Scott with a cease and desist order over “Carousel” off the rapper’s chart-topping album ASTROWORLD.

“Carousel” featured autotuned vocals from Ocean, but he says his voice has nothing to do with the cease and desist.

“I think the song sounds cool,” Ocean wrote Friday on Tumblr. “I did it in like 20 minutes and the mix sounds the way Travis wanted it to sound for his record. I also approved it before it came out” he continued, denying having an issue with the manipulation of his voice.

Instead, “the cease and desist wasn’t about 🔊 It was about 🏳️‍🌈.” Ocean, who is openly gay, did not elaborate on the meaning of the rainbow flag in his post. “Me [sic] and Travis resolved it amongst ourselves weeks ago.”

Scott did face backlash last month after removing trans model Amanda Lepore from the cover of Astroworld. The “Goosebumps” rapper insisted “I have nothing but respect for the LGBTQ community” and that he only removed Lepore’s image because it was “upstaging” his other visuals.

ASTROWORLD received rave reviews from critics and sold 537,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
