Kate Beckinsale Reveals Reason She Wouldn’t Make Another ‘Underworld’ Movie

Kate Beckinsale is ready to stop playing vampire Selene after 15 years in “Underworld”, the actress has confirmed.

Beckinsale, 45, took on the role in the 2003 original, as well as sequels in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2016.

However, in a recent Variety interview, Beckinsale insisted when asked if she’d make another movie: “I wouldn’t return. I’ve done plenty of those.”

The interview also saw the star reveal that she was nearly cast as the leading lady in “Wonder Woman”, a part that eventually went to Gal Gadot.

“There was a period of time, a long time ago, when [producer] Joel Silver was involved with [the film],” Beckinsale told the publication. “But it worked out beautifully. That was a wonderful film that Gal did.”

Beckinsale ended up loving the final version of the film, something that she doesn’t think would have happened if the original script had gotten made.

“It would have been a terrible movie based on the script that I read,” she explained.
