Tatiana Maslany recently said how Sandra Oh is a beacon of hope for young Canadian actresses, and that admiration is reciprocated.
Sandra Oh recently spoke with ET Canada at BAFTA Los Angeles + BBC America TV Tea Party. The “Killing Eve” star was touched to hear Maslany’s high-praise, offering some of her own in return.
“Tatiana is so talented and [has] such a remarkable part in ‘Orphan Black’. She led that show for five seasons,” Oh said. “The range that she has and was able to show is just phenomenal. I hope she’s here, I’m really excited to meet her.”
Ask and you shall receive. Maslany later shared a photo of the pair’s first meeting.
When asked if she keeps up with “Grey’s Anatomy” following her departure in 2014, the Ottawa-native revealed she has never watched the show.
“Of course I am a fan of [‘Grey’s Anatomy’]. I’ve never watched our show though,” Oh admitted. “One day when I am 70 and I’m lying on some island, I am going to watch the whole thing from beginning to end and just marvel at how young and youthful and great we looked.”
Oh, 47, has been nominated five times for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series (“Grey’s Anatomy”). Ahead of Monday’s 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, the actress is up for her first Outstanding Leading Actress Emmy as the star of “Killing Eve”. Maslany is also nominated for her work on “Orphan Black”.
