Betty White took the 2018 Emmy Awards by storm on Monday night.
The legendary actress, 96, surprised the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards audience with a special appearance.
After an adorable introduction from Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon, and a standing ovation, White nailed a few jokes before heading off stage.
“Somebody said something the other day about first lady of television, and I took it as a big compliment,” she quipped.
She added, “It’s incredible that I’m still in this business and you’re still putting up with me.”
And she stopped to let Baldwin kiss her hand, and she joked, “You think I’m gonna miss a chance when I get it?!”
Twitter loved White’s candid appearance on the awards show, “Find someone who looks at you the way everyone looks at Betty White,” a Buzzfeed writer wrote. Another Twitter user wrote: “We must protect Betty White at all costs, she is a national treasure.”
