“Today” hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb discussed everything from that Omarosa Manigault Newman interview to Julie Chen leaving “The Talk” when they appeared on Tuesday’s “Watch What Happens Live”.
It was revealed this week that Chen, 48, had decided to leave the show after multiple sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against her husband, Les Moonves.
Kotb, 54, explained: “That was probably a tough decision for her. That show, you have to give so much of your own personal life in it, I get it, it would be hard.”
Guthrie, 46, then added, “You have to respect it, whatever she decided.”
The duo’s appearance also saw Guthrie be quizzed on that Newman chat, in which the presenter was asked to “slow down” when questioning the former director of communications about Donald Trump.
Guthrie insisted of the interview, “I don’t know if I would do anything differently; she was on the show she was promoting her book but then she said she had to go — she had something better to do.”
