Kristen Bell Announces Return Of ‘Veronica Mars’ With New Season On Hulu, Cast Revealed

Get ready for the return of “Veronica Mars”.

Star Kristen Bell announced the news to “all the marshmallows” in a video posted to Twitter and Instagram.

“Veronica has always been a superhero without a Cape. And I think she’s exactly what the world needs right now. Thank you to all my fellow marshmallows who stayed excited,” she captioned the video on Instagram.

Bell will be joined by returning castmates Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Francis Capra, David Starzyk, and Percy Daggs III.

The series, which debuted in 2004, ran for three seasons. A movie was released in 2014 following a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $5 million for the production.

The Hulu series will consist of eight episodes and will focus on the murders of spring-breakers in Neptune. After Mars and her team are hired by one of the victim’s families, she discovers a mystery that pits the town’s wealthy elites against the working-class community.

Original series creator Rob Thomas — no relation to the Matchbox 20 frontman of the same name —  will write the premiere episode.

There’s no official launch date for the new season but Hulu will begin streaming the first three seasons, as well as the “Veronica Mars” movie, in 2019.
