Adam Sandler is making his triumphant return to standup comedy with the upcoming Netflix special “100% Fresh”.
More than 20 years after his last special —1996’s “What the Hell Happened to Me” for HBO — the “Saturday Night Live” alum is heading back to his standup roots.
The streaming giant gave Sandler fans a sneak peek at “100% Fresh” on Friday, which features the 52-year-old mixing jokes with songs in a basement inspired-setting — all in a very Sandler-esque fashion.
Sandler joins the ranks of other comedy legends to appear in Netflix standup specials, including Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle.
The “Just Go With It” actor is a longtime collaborator with Netflix; last year he re-upped his four-picture deal to add on an additional four movies after producing “The Ridiculous 6”, “Sandy Wexler”, “The Do-Over” and “The Week Of”. Coming up next: “Murder Mystery”, in which Sandler co-stars with Jennifer Aniston.
“100% Fresh” will premiere on Oct. 23.
