Meghan Markle made sure that on her wedding day she had a little piece of her first date with Prince Harry. Literally.
In a preview clip from the upcoming documentary “Queen of the World” shared on the People website, the new royal reveals that she had a little something special stitched into her incredible 16-foot wedding veil.
“Somewhere in here there’s a piece of blue fabric that’s stitched inside — it was my something blue,” Meghan says, inspecting the veil before her wedding. “It’s fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date.”
In another clip, Markle comments on the embroidered flowers from each of the 53 Commonwealth countries included on the bride’s headpiece.
“I’m really over the moon to find out that I would make this choice for our day together,” she says. “And I think the other members of the family had a similar reaction and just appreciation for the fact that we understand how important this is for us and the role that we play, and the work that we’re going to continue to do within the Commonwealth countries.
“It was good news all around, I think, so I hope people like it as much as I liked helping to create it,” Markle adds.
“Queen of the World” is set to air on HBO on Monday, Oct. 1.
