Pete Davidson is a pothead and he’s proud of it.
It wasn’t always that way, as the star of Global’s “Saturday Night Live” told Howard Stern in a SiriusXM interview on Monday. In 2016, he actually went to rehab to quit drugs altogether.
“There was no way I could stop,” he said of the decision to go into rehab. “I was like, ‘Somebody has to put me in a house where there is literally nothing.’ I had too much access.”
Davidson’s sobriety didn’t stick, though. “I was sober for three months at one point and was like, ‘This f**king sucks,'” he said, explaining that he realized “it wasn’t the weed.”
The 24-year-old was diagnosed in 2017 with borderline personality disorder, which has him dedpressed “all the time.”
He added, “I don’t want to feel like this.”
Along with the disorder, Davidson also suffers from Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory bowel disease, which is another reason he smokes weed: “It helps more than you can imagine,” Davidson explained. “There was a point where I couldn’t get out of bed. I was 110 pounds.
“I also just love smoking weed,” he added. “I’ve been smoking weed every day for eight years.”
