In the interview, Smith talks about his upcoming album ERYS and the new sound.

“I like to do it all. I like to experiment and stuff but at the end of the day, the people have spoken on what they like from me so I try to come really, really hard,” he says. “I’m just tryna lead up until ERYS. You know, so that people can kind of start to slowly make that transition with me into the more rap world.

ERYS is going to be just extremely hard. Just every song, back to back, high tempo, a lot of bass like just crazy.”

Along with music, Smith is known for experimenting with fashion.

“I really want to just continue pushing the masses, inspiring people to be like, ‘Hey, you can do whatever you want to do.’ If you want to wear this, or you want to wear that,” he says of being so open to unique looks. “And if they say that you can’t, it doesn’t matter. We’re going to think they’re cool. Even if everybody says you’re not cool. That’s what it’s all about.”

Smith also talks about his dad Will Smith turning 50 on Tuesday and the checklist of things his dad wants to do before time runs out.

“He is bungee jumping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon,” Smith notes. “I think the checklist has just started now that he turned 50. It’s only been the past few months that he’s started the checklist thing.”
