Meat Loaf was the original Eddie when the cult film was released in 1975, but will now be taken on by Lambert.

Lambert joins the cast of Victoria Justice and Ryan McCatan as they take on the roles of Janet and Brad. Penny Dreadful alum Reeve Carney will play Riff-Raff and Staz Nair will portray Rocky Horror.
The singer/actor was originally up for the role of Frank-N-Furter but it eventually went to Orange Is The New Black star, Laverne Cox.

The two-hour Fox TV special is set to air in the fall and will be directed by Kenny Ortega, who is known for directing the High School Musical films.
