It’s no secret that Idris Elba has a flair for style, which the “Luther” star demonstrated once again while hosting the FIFA Best Awards on Monday night.

Honouring the world’s top soccer stars, this year’s event marked its third consecutive year, and the 46-year-old actor made a splash when he took off his jacket to unveil a weird yet wonderful waistcoat, emblazoned with images of England manager Gareth Southgate.

As soccer fans who watched England play during this summer’s World Cup already know, Southgate cut a dashing figure on the field via the tailored waistcoats he wore at each game, and Elba decided to send Southgate a sartorial shout-out with a waistcoat of his own.
