Leah Remini made some shocking comments about Katie Holmes and the Church of Scientology as she spoke to LaPalme Magazine in a new interview.
The 48-year-old, who famously quit the Church in 2013 after being a member for 30 years, admitted she and Holmes, 39, no longer talk, despite both leaving the religion. She even said Holmes could lose custody of her 12-year-old daughter Suri, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, if the pair were to chat again.
She explained why Holmes and Nicole Kidman haven’t spoken out about Scientology: “I don’t consider myself a champion. The people who speak on the show [‘Scientology and the Aftermath’] are champions. But I keep wondering – why haven’t Katie Holmes or Nicole Kidman spoken out? I assume they were forced to sign prohibitive documents.
“Trust me, Katie‘s not allowed to have a meal with me, and we used to be close friends. She could lose custody of Suri. It’s quite sick, really.”
Remini, who examines the controversial religion in her documentary series, also said, according to DailyMailTV, that she’s been “harassed constantly” since she left.
She explained, “People on our show are harassed constantly, especially me.
“Members of the Church go to my mother’s restaurant, confront my little sister, and my stepkids in San Francisco, trying to intimidate us.
“These abusive scare tactics are what they call a religion!”
